As part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations of Partners of the Americas, renowned Venezuelan singer-songwriter Jonathan Acosta has signed an agreement with the organization to produce the album “Americano somos.” This musical project will explore the rich traditions and diverse cultures across the Americas, highlighting the continent’s vibrant heritage.

Jonathan Acosta, who was nominated for the Emmy Awards in 2022 and won the World Entertainment Awards in 2024, has established himself as a leading figure in Hispanic music. With a career spanning 23 years, he has shared his artistry in Venezuela, the United States, Italy, Spain, and throughout Latin America. His journey as a musician began with 12 years of training as a violinist in Venezuela’s National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras, furthered by 11 years of study at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory of Music in Barquisimeto.

Music has been an essential part of Acosta’s life since the age of 4, leading him to co-found the band “Bahareque” with the acclaimed artist Virgilio Arrieta. Their debut album, “Sí así llueve que no escampe,” released in 2006, became a major hit in Venezuela. As a solo artist, Acosta made a significant impact in 2016 with his song “#ANIMOVENEZUELA,” which grew into a successful motivational campaign both in Venezuela and abroad. His inclusive musical approach has earned him recognition as an influential Hispanic singer-songwriter in Washington, DC, and various cities along the U.S. East Coast.
